 :: About CJC  ::

Cultural Journalism Campus (CJC) is a unique non-profit educational programme co-organised by Vivienne Chow, a veteran cultural journalist and critic who serves as CJC’s Independent Programme Director, and Arts In Heritage Research, a non-profit organisation dedicated to arts, culture and heritage that is the funding organisation of CJC.

CJCs aim is to discover a new generation of talents who aspire to pursue a career in journalism covering the field of culture. CJC will offer young journalists and university students studying journalism, cultural studies, fine art and communications an opportunity to get hands on media experience, attend international cultural events and meet international cultural professionals.CJC will also provide young talents with a platform to publish their writing under the guidance of professional mentors.

It is also hoped to raise the city's awareness of cultural journalism and introduce a cultural perspective on our society’s development through a variety of CJC programmes.

From January 2014 to March 2014, the CJC Masterclass series will take place. Well-regarded figures from the cultural sector will share and discuss their experiences, introduce them to a city’s cultural ecology and the relationship between media and arts and culture.

During the week of Art Basel Hong Kong 2014 (May 15-18, 2014), 10 aspiring talents will be selected to take part in CJC Fellowship. They will be working in a “pop-up” newsroom environment under the guidance of veteran journalists and critics to produce CJC Daily, which will be distributed in various spots during that week.

The best out of the 10 fellows will be awarded a round-trip ticket to attend Berlin International Film Festival 2015 as an accredited journalist to cover the festival. The award is kindly sponsored by the Goethe-Institut HongKong.
